Also, having watched Roy Williams coach for nearly 20 years, something always seems to happen to his teams in the biggest game of the year – especially when they’re favored. He tightens up, they tighten up; they start missing free throws, missing shots. Some of the losses that come to mind: 1997 Sweet Sixteen vs. Arizona, 1998 2nd round vs. Rhode Island, 2003 Championship game vs. Syracuse, 2008 Final Four vs. Kansas.

in the cyclical relationship between UNC and KU by coaching two more elite coaches: Larry Brown and Roy Williams.

     Before proving himself the great NBA coach that he is, Larry Brown won a NCAA championship in 1988 with who?  You all know the answer: Kansas.  As he jumped to the NBA, this made room for little known UNC assistant
